Nicolas Cage (born January 7, 1964) is an American actor, who debuted on television in 1981. Cage often interpreted the roles of negative characters and earned several awards, Independent Spirit Award in 1989, an Oscar for Best Actor for his role in Leaving Las Vegas as well as the Toronto Film Critics Association Award in 2002. Cage has been married three times: to Patricia Arquette, to Lisa Marie Presley and presently to his wife Alice Kim Cage.
Born as Nicolas Kim Coppola in Long Beach, California, Cage is the nephew of famous director Francis Ford Coppola and actress Talia Shire, and the cousin of directors Roman Coppola and Sofia Coppola, producer Gian-Carlo Coppola, as well as actors Robert Carmine and Jason Schwartzman. Cage attended Beverly Hills High School and later on UCLA School of Theatre, wanting to pursue an acting career. He first acted in a school production of Golden Boy.
